LIVE @ the Lakefront will feature a mix of genres from nine accomplished original musical groups from around the country. With Lake Michigan providing an incredible background for their performances, this series of free original sunset shows is sure to offer something special for all Milwaukee music fans. Concerts are held RAIN or SHINE with the performance moving indoors in the case of inclement weather.
Kojo brings back its pulsating beat of reggae blended with calypso, ska, and soca to LIVE @ the Lakefront on July 8th. With members from St. Lucia and Jamaica, and their authentic reggae beats fresh out of the warm clear blue waters of the Caribbean Sea, you can almost feel warm sand under your feet and a gentle island breeze on your face. They have maintained a level of excellence that is unmatched by any other reggae band in Wisconsin, having been nominated for more than ten WAMI awards, including 2008 Best World Beat/Reggae/Ska Band, and winning six times for best reggae band, best song and best songwriter.
Feufollet is Americana at it’s finest— reverential but wholly nonconformists. The young and vibrant Southwest Louisiana band takes Cajun, honky-tonk, and string-band music as their starting point, and keeps an open mind about where their song craft will lead them. Feufollet has been recognized through awards including receiving a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Zydeco or Cajun Music Album for its album En Couleurs.

Literally translated as “The Blind Boys of the Neighborhood”, this incredible multi-genre Latin music group composed of legally blind musicians plays LIVE @ the Lakefront on July 29th. Based in New York since 1997 and recording since 2000, their original combinations of meringue, bachata, salsa, cumbia, reggaeton and rock have been featured on three albums, received national airplay and hit #1 on MP3.com. Led by Alvin Suarez on lead guitar and vocals, with Derek Christopher Suarez on bass, Machete on keyboards and harmonica, Jaime Diaz on rhythm guitar and bass, Jimmy Fontanez on percussion and Angel Dueno on guira and timbales.

Trapper Schoepp has the ear of a troubadour, the eye of a journalist and the heart of a young poet. In 2012, he released his national debut Run, Engine, Run with his band The Shades on Side One Dummy Records as a love letter to their beloved home state of Wisconsin. The album’s mix of rocking tunes and sweet Americana-laced tales has helped pave the way for the group to share stages all over the country alongside such kindred spirits as The Wallflowers, The Jayhawks, The Old 97′s, Frank Turner and more.

Band Called Catch has grown their roots in the Chicago acoustic folk/rock scene. You’ve heard them on MTV and on the radio, seen them on NBC as the House Band for Sports City Chicago, and they’ve rocked stages all over the country. The band recently won “Best Love Song” for When In Rome from the Independent Music Awards and was the first band to release an interactive 360 degree music video with that very same song. BCC is music the whole family can jam to- put on your dancin’ shoes and come sing along!
